'ello. This is Ratty Daddy. We have chosen the Wind in the Willows as the theme for our blog, because Mole and Rat were traveling companions in the book and had many adventures, some very wonderful, and others, less so. Kind of fitting I think.
We have been sprouting lentils, and alfalfa, and mung beans. There is a sprouter we purchased called the Easy Sprout and so far they (we got three of them) are working pretty well. Lentils sprout the best and the quickest and are a great food, especially handy for food storage and not needing to be cooked. They also are a great way to alkalize yourself and de-acidify. And these things are cheap to stock and eat.
Then we went to Cantrell Iowa to the Dutchman store and picked up some things, among them raw almonds. We soak the almonds overnight, blanch them for 30 seconds in boiling water, skin them, put them in our Vitamix blender and turn them into almond milk, using dates as sweetener and a dash of vanilla for flavoring. Bon appetit.
